New All-Electric Mercedes-Benz C-Class Unveiled: A Modern Twist on an Iconic Design

Mercedes-Benz has announced the upcoming release of its all-electric C-Class sedan, a new addition to the brand's growing electric vehicle (EV) lineup. The C-Class EV is expected to share similar powertrains with the GLC EQ and be based on the MB.EA platform.

The teaser for the new model showcases an iconic grille with four glowing horizontal slats, a nod to the brand's heritage, and three-pointed-star-like Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) in the headlamps. The lower part of the bumper is likely to feature air vents for improved aerodynamics.

The all-electric C-Class is expected to be equipped with an 800V system, allowing for a 303 km (WLTP) top-up within 10 minutes using a 330 kW DC fast charger. This fast charging capability could potentially recharge the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in less than 30 minutes.

Two powertrain options are anticipated for the all-electric C-Class: a single motor setup delivering 330 bhp, and a dual-motor (AWD) setup offering 489 bhp. The C-Class EV is expected to be powered by a 94 kWh battery pack, similar to the GLC EQ.

The manufacturer of the 2026 Mercedes-Benz C-Class EV will be Mercedes-Benz itself, with production taking place in Bremen, Germany. The C-Class EV will share its powertrain options and advanced battery technology with the upcoming GLC EV.

The new all-electric C-Class is not yet available for direct comparison, but it is expected to compete with models such as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Volvo S90, Audi A4, Skoda Superb 2025, Audi A6, and BMW 3 Series LWB.

Mercedes-Benz's commitment to electrification is further demonstrated by their recent article titled "Mercedes-Benz vows to keep V12 alive in era of aggressive electrification, plans multiple models," indicating that the brand intends to continue offering both electric and combustion engine vehicles in the future.

Stay tuned for more updates on the all-electric Mercedes-Benz C-Class as it approaches its release date.
