Monthly Data Confidentiality Campaign Launched by COTI to Enhance User Privacy

In the ever-evolving world of blockchain technology, privacy and regulatory compliance have emerged as critical factors for mainstream adoption. COTI, a leading player in the decentralized finance (DeFi) and Web3 spheres, is spearheading this shift with its Decentralized Confidential Computing (DeCC) initiative.

DeCC is designed to be a pioneering privacy technology stack that enables programmable, compliant privacy in the Web3 and DeFi ecosystems. The core technology allows confidential data processing directly on-chain with selective disclosure, offering a practical solution to the common privacy–compliance dilemma faced by blockchain protocols.

At the heart of DeCC lies the Garbled Circuits engine, a cryptographic technique developed in collaboration with Soda Labs. This engine operates up to 3,000 times faster than typical zero-knowledge (ZK) proof systems, enabling scalable and efficient private computations that preserve auditability and compliance reporting.

COTI is actively developing and deploying this high-performance confidential computation stack with selective disclosure. To further foster ecosystem collaboration, COTI has launched a monthly virtual initiative called DeCC Spaces, gatherings that unite Web3 developers and teams advancing on-chain privacy.

The first DeCC event, held as a Twitter Spaces session on July 22, 2025, in partnership with Secret Network, attracted a significant audience, reportedly in the thousands. The discussion highlighted the shift from Privacy 1.0 (regulatory-unfriendly) to Privacy 2.0 solutions that embed selective disclosure for mainstream adoption.

Privacy 2.0 is focused on enabling secure, identity-conscious, and compliant privacy protocols that maintain transparency for institutions while offering individuals stronger protections for their on-chain activities. Projects like Midnight Network, which leverages zero-knowledge smart contracts to boost privacy, and Ten Protocol, a project developing a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) for the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), participated in the discussion.

COTI's vision for DeCC is to become the foundational privacy layer that balances confidentiality, auditability, and compliance, empowering decentralized organizations, enterprises, and regulators to confidently operate on public blockchains as Web3 expands into mainstream finance. By addressing key operational and regulatory challenges, COTI's approach supports businesses and decentralized organizations as they navigate the complex landscape of privacy and compliance.

In summary, COTI's DeCC initiative is actively developing and deploying a high-performance confidential computation stack with selective disclosure, backed by community events fostering ecosystem collaboration. The goal is to usher in the so-called Privacy Summer, a period marked by widespread integration and understanding of blockchain privacy standards.

Technology plays a crucial role in COTI's Decentralized Confidential Computing (DeCC) initiative, as it utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques like the Garbled Circuits engine to enable scalable and efficient private computations on-chain. This high-performance confidential computation stack with selective disclosure is a key component in COTI's mission to create the foundational privacy layer for mainstream blockchain adoption.
