New Holland's T7 Methane Power Tractor: A Game-Changer in Agriculture

New Holland, a leading name in the agricultural industry, has introduced a groundbreaking tractor - the T7 Methane Power. Powered by biomethane, this tractor is making waves with its impressive performance and cost-saving benefits in practical biogas plant use.

One of the standout features of the T7 Methane Power is its lack of complex exhaust aftertreatment, which significantly reduces maintenance costs. Unlike diesel-powered tractors, the T7.270 Methane Power can save up to 10,000 euros per year in operating costs. With a simple three-way catalyst, methane burns virtually emission-free, increasing the tractor's reliability.

The T7 Methane Power's fuel supply is particularly efficient due to the use of an on-site CNG filling station. Quick refueling can be accomplished in just 3 minutes, and overnight slow-fill refueling can fully charge the tractor's tanks by morning. The tractor can store approximately 120 kg of biomethane in its nine tanks, allowing for up to 10 hours of operating time.

The T7 Methane Power delivers a performance of 271 HP and 1,160 Nm of torque, powered by an FPT Nef six-cylinder engine specifically designed for biomethane. The tractor operates quietly, with significantly reduced engine noise.

The T7 Methane Power's AutoCommand transmission ensures optimal RPM and consumption for efficiency. With self-produced biomethane, the savings for operating the tractor can exceed 24,000 euros per year. The range of the T7.270 Methane Power can be extended with a range extender to an equivalent of 291 liters of diesel.

For those interested in learning more about the T7.270 Methane Power, a detailed test report can be found in the traction September/October 2025 issue. This tractor is a testament to New Holland's commitment to sustainable agriculture and innovative technology.
