Pakistan's Largest DC Fast-Charging Network for Energy Vehicles Set to Debut
Revved Up: BYD Pakistan & Mega Motor Company Team Up with HUBCO Green to Fuel Pakistan's Future!
BYD Pakistan, in alliance with Mega Motors and HUBCO Green, is revving up to build a colossal DC fast-charging network for New Energy Vehicles (NEVs). On a roll, they announced this groundbreaking collaboration in a statement last Friday.
In the next three years, HUBCO Green is planning to install roughly 128 DC fast chargers nationwide, with 50 installations slated by December 2025. The intricate network will be spread across three main zones: urban centers, intercity highways and motorways, and commercial hubs, malls, hotels, and hospitals.
Urban centers will profit from partnerships with major oil marketing companies like PSO, PARCO Gunvor, and Attock Petroleum Limited. Intercity chargers will be strategically placed every 150-200 kilometers to smooth long-distance travel, while destination charging points at commercial hubs will provide enhanced customer convenience. A handful of key installations are already operational in major cities like Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, including at PSO stations and BYD Pakistan dealerships.
Danish Khaliq, BYD Pakistan’s Vice President Sales and Strategy, commented, "Range anxiety is one of the top barriers preventing NEV adoption in Pakistan. With this progressive partnership with HUBCO Green, we aren't only overcoming a logistical hurdle but reshaping Pakistan's entire mobility landscape. Our goal goes beyond setting up infrastructure; it's about providing assurance and confidence to our customers that electric mobility is both realistic and practical."
Meanwhile, Masood Zafar, Vice President Projects at HUBCO, added, "We're laying the foundation for a cleaner, greener future through our collaboration with BYD Pakistan. Clean transportation can become a reality for the nation as a whole, thanks to this partnership."
