Peacock, Comcast's streaming service, to increase monthly subscription fees starting next week, while also unveiling a more streamlined pricing plan.

Peacock, the streaming service owned by Comcast-NBCUniversal, has announced changes to its pricing structure and the introduction of a new tier, set to take effect from July 23, 2025.

The most significant change is the price increase for existing subscribers. The Ad-Supported Plan, previously known as Premium, will rise from $7.99 to $10.99 per month. Similarly, the Premium Plus Plan will increase from $13.99 to $16.99 per month.

In an effort to cater to a wider audience, Peacock is also introducing a new tier called the "Select Tier." Priced at $7.99 per month, this tier is targeted at TV lovers and offers limited content, including current seasons of shows on NBC and Bravo, but excludes sports.

The Select Tier will also include an assortment of library titles, such as films like "Wicked" and "Nosferatu," and reality shows like "Love Island USA." It's important to note that Peacock claims it will stream more live sports than Amazon Prime, Paramount+, Hulu, HBO Max, Apple TV, and Netflix combined in 2026.

These changes will apply to new subscribers from July 23, 2025, while existing subscribers will see the price increase after August 22, 2025, depending on their billing date.

As of the first quarter, Peacock reported a total of 41 million paid subscribers, up from 36 million at the end of last year. This growth indicates a strong interest in the service, despite the upcoming price increases, which are additional to a previous $2 rise that occurred before the Olympic Games in Paris last year.

In summary, Peacock is raising its prices, with the new prices for the Ad-Supported Premium Plan being $10.99 per month and the Premium Plus Plan costing $16.99 per month. The new Select Tier, priced at $7.99 per month, offers limited content and is targeted at TV lovers. These changes are part of Peacock's ongoing strategy to provide a diverse and engaging streaming experience for its subscribers.

The new pricing structure for Peacock's streaming service includes an increase in the Ad-Supported Premium Plan, previously known as Premium, from $7.99 to $10.99 per month, aligning it with adjustments in finance. Moreover, the media landscape is set to witness the introduction of a Select Tier targeted at TV lovers, priced at $7.99 per month, offering a limited selection of shows and movies that cater to technology enthusiasts.
