Philips Smart TVs Get Immersive AmbiScape Lighting via Matter Standard
Philips Smart TVs, produced by TP Vision, are set to elevate their viewing experience with the new AmbiScape system. This innovation integrates with Signify's Philips Hue lighting system via the open Matter standard.
AmbiScape will roll out via a software update, enabling users to add compatible bulbs directly through their TV's Ambilight settings. This feature replaces the previous Ambilight+Hue system, discontinued earlier this year.
The new system will initially support several Philips TV models from 2025, including the OLED 760, OLED 770, MLED950, MLED 910, MLED 920, and PUS9000 series, all running on Titan OS. Notably, AmbiScape will connect with smart bulbs from various manufacturers, not just Philips Hue, thanks to the Matter standard. It will also work with the Hue Bridge 2.0, expanding its compatibility.
While it's uncertain if Philips Android or Google TVs will support AmbiScape initially, broader support is anticipated in 2026 models. The system is expected to work with bulbs from IKEA, Osram, Nanoleaf, WiZ, and of course, Philips Hue.
The AmbiScape system, developed by TP Vision for Philips Smart TVs, promises an immersive viewing experience by integrating with a wide range of smart bulbs. This update, rolling out via software, will initially support select 2025 Philips TV models and expand in the future.
