PlayStation 5 undergoes significant upgrade enhancing DualSense controller performance - Enhancements extended to PS5 Pro as well.

The PlayStation 5 (PS5) is set to receive a new system software update on September 19, 2025. With the update, version 25.06.12, the PS5 and PS5 Pro will gain new capabilities for DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers, as well as the introduction of the Power Saver mode.

The Power Saver mode is an environmental initiative designed to help reduce energy consumption while gaming. This feature works with supported games to scale back performance and restrict power consumption. Some games, like the upcoming Ghost of Yōtei, will launch with optional support for the Power Saver mode, while others, such as Demon's Souls and Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, will receive updates to support this new feature.

The DualSense controller, known for its adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, now offers expanded functionality. It can now be used with devices like Mac, PC, iPhone, or Android, and it remembers up to four pairing slots for different devices. To find the DualSense controller in a device's Bluetooth pairing menu, follow the device's standard pairing process. To switch between devices, press and hold the PS button and one of the action buttons (triangle, circle, cross, or square) on the DualSense controller for five seconds to enter pair mode.

To activate the Power Saver mode, navigate to Settings > System > Power Saving > Power Saver for Games after installing the update. The PS5 will need one of the pairing slots, and up to three other devices can be set. It's an easy way to help reduce energy bills while still enjoying your favourite games.

If the update hasn't been automatically installed, it can be initiated manually through the mentioned steps. The update can be found in Downloads/Uploads on the homescreen's icon bar or through Settings > System > System Software > System Software Update and Settings.

This update marks a significant step forward for the PlayStation 5, offering players more control over their gaming experience and contributing to a more sustainable future.
