Polestar Announces Partnership with Plugsurfing for Pan-European Charging Solution

Polestar, the electric performance car brand, has partnered with Plugsurfing to launch a new subscription service called Polestar Charge. This service is now available in several European countries, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK.

The Polestar Charge service has been integrated with Google Maps, allowing drivers to plan optimal charging stops along their routes. This integration aims to reduce worries about finding charging locations, as stated by Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar.

Polestar Charge offers access to over 650,000 public charging points across Europe. Some of the networks accessible through the Polestar Charge app include IONITY, Recharge, Total, Fastned, Allego, and even Tesla Supercharger stations open to non-Tesla drivers.

In addition, a new subscription service offers a 30% discount off charging fees at 28,000 chargers in several European countries. The monthly fee for this subscription service is €13.99 (£11.99).

Pre-conditioning of a car's batteries through Polestar Charge also enables faster charging speeds. However, no new information about the number of public charging points available through Polestar Charge was given.

Polestar has built the collaboration to enable Polestar Charge, a pan-European public charging platform, through partnerships primarily based in Europe. The exact partners in this collaboration are not specified in the provided information.

European deliveries of the new Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 are scheduled to start later this year. Thomas Ingenlath stated that the integration makes charging easy for Polestar drivers.

Via the Polestar Charge app, drivers can access 500 international and local networks in 27 European countries. However, no new subscription service offering discounts on charging fees was mentioned in this announcement.
