Quantum computing heavyweights set to be unveiled at Dama Tecnopolo's upcoming event
Bologna to Host Two Advanced Quantum Computing Systems by 2026
Bologna, Italy, is set to become a European hub for quantum computing technology. By the end of 2025 or early 2026, the Tecnopolo DAMA in Bologna will host two advanced quantum computing systems, making it one of the most significant locations for quantum computing in Europe.
The Tecnopolo DAMA, a science city that already hosts Cineca, the largest computing center in Italy, will combine traditional high-performance computing with emerging quantum technologies to offer significant capabilities in data processing and innovation. The exact brands or models of these quantum computing systems have not been detailed yet, but the sequence of developments confirms that two such advanced systems will be hosted at the Bologna Tecnopolo within the stated timeframe.

From a health perspective, quantum computing could allow the development of tailored pharmaceutical therapies. It could also make the recharge of smartphones and electric cars faster.
Through its adhesion to Step, the EU platform aiming to reduce dependence on China and the United States and protect European competitiveness, the Region is furthering its commitment to Europe's efforts for technological sovereignty. The Tecnopolo DAMA in Bologna is poised to play a strategic role in this endeavour, contributing to Europe's efforts to become self-sufficient in technology. These quantum computing systems are expected to arrive between the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026.
