Quantum Space Secures $40M for National Security Missions
Quantum Space, a leading aerospace company, has secured $40 million in funding to bolster its national security missions. The company plans to utilise the acquired multi-mode propulsion technology on its Ranger spacecraft, which are designed to carry substantial payloads and provide significant delta-V.
In June, Quantum Space raised the $40 million to support its shift towards national security missions. This funding will enable the company to acquire advanced technologies, such as the multi-mode propulsion system, which it plans to integrate into its Ranger spacecraft.
Recently, Apex, a satellite manufacturer, also acquired Hall Effect thruster technology from Phase Four as part of its $200 million funding round. This deal was described as a partnership by Phase Four's CEO Steve Kiser, ensuring the technology scales for defense, science, and commercial missions.
On September 22, 20XX, Lockheed Martin acquired Quantum Space's multi-mode propulsion technology and its integration and test facility in Southern California. Quantum Space is currently in the process of acquiring these technologies and facilities from Phase Four. The acquired facilities will be used to accelerate the development and expansion of propulsion systems and Ranger spacecraft.
Quantum Space's acquisition of multi-mode propulsion technology and facilities from Phase Four, along with the $40 million funding, positions the company to strengthen its national security missions. The integration of this technology into the Ranger spacecraft line is expected to enhance their capabilities, supporting a wide range of missions.
