OBSBOT Tail Air: A Compact PTZ Camera with Advanced Tracking Technology
The OBSBOT Tail Air is a versatile PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) camera designed for dynamic, multi-camera production environments such as churches, sports, and live events. This compact device, reminiscent in size to a sparrow, is an unobtrusive addition to any setting without compromising on performance.
The Tail Air boasts an 8MP sensor with a F1.8 eight-element lens, capable of recording in 4K at up to 30 fps and HD at up to 60 fps. It also features a 4x digital zoom for capturing close-up shots with remarkable clarity.

Utilising Time of Flight (TOF) technology, the camera emits a beam of infrared light that measures the time it takes for the light to reflect back from the subject. The Tail Air is charged using a provided USB-C cable and a USB-A AC adapter. A female 1/4-inch port for tripod mounting can be found on the bottom of the device.
The Tail Air's camera rests on a gimbal, with a blue LED status indicator and four blue LEDs for battery level below it. The device is activated by pressing the power button, which triggers the gimbal to adjust itself and display a green bar under the camera, signalling it is ready for use.
Another unique feature of the Tail Air is Gesture Control 2.0. This allows on-screen talent to use hand movements to zoom, lock or unlock tracking, and start or stop recording, providing a seamless and interactive experience.
The OBSBOT App offers additional controls for disconnecting the camera, reviewing settings, adjusting audio, and more. The app's interface is user-friendly, with six icons and a record button across the bottom of the screen for choosing AI mode, movement speed, tracking mode, framing, positioning, presets, and Gimbal View.
