Saudi airline Riyadh Air and Unilode, a leading provider of outsourced units load device (ULD) management solutions, announce their agreement for digital transformation of Riyadh Air's ULD fleet.
Saudi Arabia's startup airline, Riyadh Air, has signed a long-term agreement with Unilode Aviation Solutions, marking a significant step towards its vision of becoming one of the most forward-looking airlines in the world.
The partnership, which is part of Riyadh Air's strategy to implement smart, sustainable, and human-centered solutions in its operations, will see Unilode providing innovative ULD solutions, an unrivaled global network, and a pioneering digital platform.
Riyadh Air's CEO, Tony Douglas, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating that it is not just a technological upgrade, but also about building trust, reducing environmental footprint, and delivering a premium guest experience.
The agreement covers the supply of new lightweight ULDs designed to boost operational efficiency and sustainability. In addition, Riyadh Air will integrate Bluetooth-enabled tracking across its ULD fleet, supported by Unilode's reader infrastructure. This tracking will provide real-time visibility, condition monitoring, and optimization of assets.
Adam Boukadida, the CFO of Riyadh Air, emphasized that every decision is aimed at creating effortless, personalized, and responsible journeys. He further stated that the partnership with Unilode is a testament to this commitment.
The deal also includes tapping into Unilode's global repair network and full-service management model. This partnership is expected to contribute to the Kingdom's non-oil GDP, with Riyadh Air's operations creating more than 200,000 jobs worldwide.
By 2030, Riyadh Air aims to serve over 100 destinations and operate more than 180 aircraft. The airline also expects to contribute $20 billion to Saudi Arabia's non-oil GDP.
Unilode's CEO, Ross Marino, stated that partnering with Riyadh Air at this pivotal stage highlights Unilode's ability to deliver value not only in the present but also in the future. He further added that the partnership is a contribution to the Kingdom's Vision 2030 by supporting its aviation transformation.
