Socotra Introduces MCP Server for Quick and Safe Connections with Agentic AI

In a significant move for the insurance industry, Socotra has launched its Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server, marking a new era of AI integration and workflow automation.

The Socotra MCP Server allows insurers to seamlessly connect agentic AI to the Socotra Insurance Suite, streamlining various insurance processes. This innovative solution is now readily available to customers, complete with instructions for integrating with popular AI platforms such as Claude, Cursor, and Visual Studio Code.

MCP, introduced by Anthropic in 2024, addresses a common challenge in the industry—integrating AI agents with core systems not designed for AI connectivity. It serves as a universal, standards-based interface, enabling AI agents to interact with enterprise systems in a structured and auditable manner.

Socotra's Chief Product and Technology Officer, Sonny Patel, emphasised that every component of Socotra was built with AI connectivity in mind. He highlighted that the MCP Server simplifies the deployment of agentic AI, empowering insurers to boost productivity, reduce expenses, improve loss ratios, and deliver better products and support to customers.

The adoption of MCP servers is gaining traction, with enterprise software giants like Salesforce, Snowflake, Atlassian, Hubspot, and many more incorporating them into their offerings. Gartner forecasts that AI software spending in the insurance industry will reach $15.9 billion by 2027, with a five-year CAGR of 18.2%.

While no publicly available information specifies which insurance companies have chosen to use the Socotra MCP Server, the potential benefits and industry-wide trend towards AI integration suggest that its adoption is likely to grow in the near future. With Socotra's MCP Server, the insurance industry is poised to embrace the transformative power of AI, driving efficiency, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
