Starlab Partners with Journey for Next-Generation Space Station Design

Starlab Space LLC, a global joint venture between Voyager Technologies, Airbus, Mitsubishi Corporation, MDA Space, and Palantir Technologies, has announced a strategic partnership with Journey, a multidimensional experience agency. The collaboration aims to design the interior and experiential aspects of Starlab, the next-generation commercial space station.

Journey will lead the design and development of an intuitive, comfortable, and engaging environment for astronauts to live and work in orbit. They will be responsible for combining narrative design, digital infrastructure, and spatial layout to ensure Starlab functions as both a cutting-edge research platform and a welcoming, livable habitat that enhances the daily life of astronauts.

In addition to this, Journey will work closely with Hilton, another key partner in the Starlab program, specifically designing the hospitality and crew experience on the station. This partnership aims to integrate innovative design and technology to make Starlab not only operationally successful but also exceptional in terms of astronaut experience, reflecting both function and humanity.

Tim Kopra, CEO of Starlab, stated that the aim is to create an intuitive and comfortable environment for astronauts that allows them to fully focus on their mission. Lionel Ohayon, Chief Creative Officer & Co-Founder of Journey, added that they are applying their decades of design expertise to humanity's next frontier: space.

Starlab is targeting launch ahead of the International Space Station's planned retirement. The station is designed to support a continuous human presence in orbit, offering research and commercial opportunities for government agencies, academic institutions, and private industry worldwide.
