SunHydrogen Partners with COTEC to Scale Green Hydrogen Production

SunHydrogen, Inc. (OTC: HYSR) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding with COTEC, a South Korean leader in industrial electroplating. The collaboration aims to develop and optimize electroplating solutions for SunHydrogen's semiconductor deposition, with potential benefits for the burgeoning green hydrogen market.

COTEC, based in Changwon, brings extensive expertise from aerospace, automotive, defense, and nuclear industries to the table. The company will work with SunHydrogen to develop and implement electroplating solutions for manufacturing-scale production of PAH nanoparticles, maintaining low cost and high efficiency.

SunHydrogen's Photoelectrosynthetically Active Heterostructure (PAH) nanoparticles split water to generate hydrogen and oxygen within its hydrogen generators. The company's SunHydrogen Panels, in development, will produce green hydrogen using sunlight and any source of water, much like solar panels generate electricity.

The partnership with COTEC is a strategic move for SunHydrogen, which seeks to translate its lab-scale successes to larger scales. COTEC's CEO and Chairman, Ju-Won Choi, sees great potential in collaborating on industrial electroplating solutions for green hydrogen adoption. SunHydrogen's CEO, Tim Young, believes a diversified approach to scale-up is most effective, as demonstrated by their recent $3.1 million funding approval for Project NanoPEC with six partners in Germany.

SunHydrogen and COTEC's collaboration could significantly impact the green hydrogen market, estimated to be worth $12 trillion by 2050. By overcoming current scaling challenges and optimizing electroplating solutions, the partnership aims to enable emission-free vehicles, ships, data centers, aircraft, and more, solidifying SunHydrogen's position as a major technology supplier in the new hydrogen economy.
