Surge in Battlefield 6 Beta Participation: Record-Breaking 330,000+ Players on Steam, 800,000+ Viewers on Twitch

The beta for Battlefield 6, the latest installment in the popular first-person shooter series, has made a strong start, surpassing the concurrent player numbers and Twitch viewership of its predecessor, Battlefield 2042.

During the beta, Battlefield 6's peak on Steam reached an impressive 521,000 concurrent players, setting a new record for the Battlefield series and even outperforming Call of Duty's all-time high of around 491,670 players. This figure far surpasses Battlefield 2042's beta peak of approximately 156,000 concurrent players and its release peak of 107,376 players [1][2][3].

On Twitch, Battlefield 6's beta drew over 870,000 concurrent viewers, more than double the peak viewership of Battlefield 2042's beta that reached around 350,000 viewers [4][5].

These figures indicate that Battlefield 6's beta has generated much higher player engagement and viewership compared to Battlefield 2042, reflecting stronger franchise excitement and possibly better reception during its beta phase.

The high demand for Battlefield 6's beta led to the EA Account site crashing during the rush. Additionally, there were potential reports of issues when trying to link Steam, Xbox, or PlayStation accounts. However, redeeming Battlefield 6 early access codes was still possible, although linking EA Account with Twitch was affected.

Developer DICE is increasing server capacity to accommodate more players across all platforms. For PC players, it's essential to ensure their system meets minimum requirements and Secure Boot is enabled for the game's kernel-level anti-cheat. Battlefield 6 also supports crossplay, which can be toggled on or off.

The success of the Battlefield 6 beta might signal a major comeback for the franchise and potential competition for Call of Duty, especially given Activision officials' statement that Call of Duty is "too big to fail". DICE and EA are hoping that Battlefield 6's strong start is a sign of what's going to come when the game launches on October 10, 2025.

Engagement has remained consistently high during the first weekend of the Battlefield 6 beta. With the final beta weekend scheduled for August 14-17, 2025, fans are eagerly anticipating more action and further opportunities to experience the game before its official release.
