A peek into Definitely: The groundbreaking AI-driven legal tech
Tech Company Definely Secures $30 Million in Series B Investment
After securing a whopping $30 million in their Series B funding round, London-based disruptor Definitely is ready to revolutionize the legal world with AI technology. The investors behind this round, led by Revaia, also include Alumni Ventures, Beacon Capital, Clio, and The Raine Group, among others.
What's the buzz all about?
Founded by ex-Magic Circle lawyers Nnamdi Emelifeonwu and Feargus MacDaeid - the latter being visually impaired - this dynamic duo aimed to make legal documents more accessible for those with visual impairments. However, they soon realized the far-reaching implications of their solution.
Definitely's arsenal includes automating proofreading, editing defined terms and cross-references, and AI-assisted drafting and review with their product Enhance. With over 100 in-house legal teams and law firms worldwide, including Magic Circle and White Shoe firms, using their software, it's safe to say Definitely is making a significant impression.
Gunning for the US market
With the majority of the Series B funding, Definitely plans to broaden its global footprint, especially targeting the US market. Having already gained momentum with last October's $7 million Series A investment led by Octopus Ventures, the company is poised for further growth.
Emelifeonwu recently shared his thoughts on LinkedIn, stating, "Although the landscape remains tough, with Black and disabled founders facing significant systemic barriers, I hope what Feargus (registered blind) and I have achieved offers a small reminder that it can be done."
Cutting-edge capabilities
Definitely's AI-powered technology enables lawyers to maintain a deep contextual understanding of legal documents, quickly surfacing relevant information across contracts. The technology also aids in identifying and presenting crucial data, enhancing efficiency in analyzing legal documents.
Furthermore, Definitely's solutions are instrumental in contract analysis, offering swift insights that are invaluable for negotiating, drafting, and reviewing legal agreements. With the recent funding, Definitely is set to expand its capabilities and global reach in the legal sector.
