Tees Valley Adopts Yunex Traffic's Fusion to Cut Congestion & Emissions

Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA) has chosen Yunex Traffic's innovative Fusion software to manage traffic across the region. This move is part of TVCA's Digital Transportation Strategy, aiming to reduce congestion and emissions while improving journey times.

Fusion, a multimodal adaptive traffic control solution, optimises traffic signal timings to prioritise active travel modes and cleaner air outcomes. Andrea Reacroft, TVCA's digital transport programme delivery manager, confirmed this, stating that Fusion is a key part of their innovative strategy.

The software uses modern data sources to monitor traffic and provide accurate congestion indicators, enabling policy-driven traffic management decisions. Wilke Reints, managing director of Yunex Traffic in the UK, praised TVCA's choice, highlighting Fusion's ability to enhance network performance without major infrastructure schemes.

TVCA is the first combined administrative district in the UK to adopt Yunex Traffic's Fusion solution. The software promises improved network efficiency, automated incident detection, and reduced delays, congestion, and emissions. The CiTTi Awards, recognising achievements and innovations in intelligent transport systems, will take place on 26 November 2024 in London, where Fusion's impact may be celebrated.
