Tesla to Establish a Showroom in the Delhi-NCR Region: Learn About Its Location...
The Tesla Model Y has made its debut in India, marking a significant milestone for electric vehicles in the country. The new model is available in two rear-wheel drive (RWD) variants: the standard RWD and the Long Range RWD.
The standard RWD variant comes with a 60-63 kWh battery, offering a WLTP range of around 500 km. The Long Range RWD variant, on the other hand, boasts a 75-83 kWh battery, providing a WLTP range of approximately 622 km. Both variants offer impressive acceleration, with the standard RWD reaching 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, and the Long Range variant achieving the same feat in 5.6 seconds. Both models have a top speed of 201 km/h.
The pricing for the standard RWD Model Y starts at approximately ₹59.89 lakh, while the Long Range RWD version is priced at ₹67.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The Model Y is equipped with a host of features, including a 15.4-inch front touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-inch rear-seat screen, power-adjustable front seats and steering column, heated and ventilated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic fixed glass roof, powered rear liftgate, 19-inch wheels, and multi-color ambient lighting.
On the safety front, the Model Y includes 6 airbags, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, an electronic parking brake, and Tesla’s optional Full-Self Driving system, priced at ₹6 lakh. However, it's important to note that the car currently requires active driver supervision.
Tesla is also establishing a Supercharger network in India, with high-speed charging capable of adding about 267 km of range in 15 minutes. The max fast charge rates are 175 kW for the RWD and 250 kW for the Long Range.
The Model Y's design is based on the Model 3, but it has a higher stance, a panoramic glass roof, and a sporty, coupe-like silhouette. The exterior features flush door handles, slim headlamps, and an aerodynamic shape focused on practicality.
Over-the-air updates are planned for the Model Y's software as it evolves. However, it's worth mentioning that full autonomous driving capabilities are not available at launch for the Model Y in India.
The first Tesla dealership in India was inaugurated at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). The Model Y is available in seven exterior color options and two interior trims in India.
In summary, the Tesla Model Y in India offers strong range options and features, with pricing starting around ₹60 lakh. It comes with advanced infotainment, premium comfort amenities, multiple color choices, and upcoming access to Tesla's fast charging infrastructure.
The Tesla Model Y's debut in India highlights a progressive shift towards electric vehicles in the country, reinforcing the influence of technology in our lifestyle. The Model Y's high-tech features, such as the in-built 15.4-inch touchscreen and Tesla's Full-Self Driving system, resonate with the modern consumer's affinity for advanced technology.
