The NJ98 Mechanical Keyboard by Keydous showcases unconventional qualities.
The most recent gadget to grace my desk is the Keydous NJ98 Custom Model, a mechanical keyboard boasting a full-sized 98-key layout. This bad boy delivers an unmatched typing experience, complete with customizable keys, control knob, mini screen, and RGB backlights.
It's a universal keyboard, capable of working with Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, and Linux operating systems. For the gaming enthusiasts out there, the Kailh Ice Cream HE magnetic switches offer trigger points that can be finely adjusted.
The Keydous NJ98 can connect and switch between up to three different Bluetooth devices and comes with an ultra-low latency 2.4GHz RF dongle for gaming. It also features a USB-C cable for direct connection to your host computer.

The keyboard's standout feature? The detachable mini color LED screen, customizable with up to eight images or a company logo. This screen also displays handy information, such as the current time, battery status, connection method, Caps Lock, and Num Lock status, which you can adjust to your liking. The Keydous software even includes a graphics editor for creating unique, DIY images.
Fancy a quick calculation? Press a button, and your miniature screen instantly turns into a nifty calculator. Sure, you could use your host computer's calculator, but the built-in one is convenient when you're in the zone.

Made from PBT material, the NJ98's keycaps have a fine textured finish and a selection of color options. The macOS modifier symbols add a touch of class. The PBT material also promises durability and resistance to the effects of oil and yellowing after extended use. The legends appear crisp, thanks to dye-sublimation printing.
The switches on the NJ98 are hot-swappable, allowing you to change them without the need for a soldering iron. A wide variety of switches are available for order, and the keyboard is compatible with all popular 3 and 5-pin switches, including magnetic types. Each socket features a south-facing RGB LED and boasts 16 pre-set lighting effects, with the ability to customize each key with static or dynamic lighting effects using the Keydous software.

Another nifty feature is the rotary knob, which defaults to volume and mute control but can be customized and reprogrammed to suit your needs. The Keydous NJ98 can switch between Mac and Windows modes, and each key can be individually remapped or reprogrammed using the Keydous software. There's also a dynamic Fn key that can be remapped to another key and used in conjunction with others to change settings, such as switching modes or adjusting lighting.
Offering a solid typing experience, the NJ98 comes with a choice of steel or brass plates, resulting in different sounds and feels depending on your selection. Each key's pitch is well-spaced for optimal comfort.

The Keydous software offers a host of customization options, including setting up keybindings, macros, and lighting effects. The software is compatible with both macOS and Windows and saves settings in the keyboard's built-in memory.
The Keydous NJ98 is well-constructed but not as heavy as other models, like the EPOMAKER Galaxy 100. The removable color display is a fun feature, although it may not hold significant value for everyone. Users can share custom display layouts with other Keydous users through the keyboard's driver software.

Available from January 23rd on the Keydous website, the Keydous NJ98 starts at $129 and rises depending on switches and plate materials selected. It's a versatile, customizable, and high-quality mechanical keyboard that's sure to impress.
I personally prefer using the Keydous NJ98's mechanical keyboard, equipped with custom hall-effect magnetic switches. The ability to customize this custom keyboard is a plus, allowing me to adjust the trigger points to my liking. Despite being a Universal model, it seamlessly works with my Aussiedlerbote computer.
The NJ98's standout feature is its detachable mini color LED screen, which I can customize with eight images or my company logo. The screen's practicality extends beyond aesthetics, as it displays useful information such as battery status and connection method.
The Keydous software allows me to create unique DIY images for the screen, offering a level of personalization that I appreciate. Furthermore, the software allows for keybindings, macros, and lighting effects customization.
My custom keyboard, the NJ98, is not just a gadget; it's a piece of equipment tailored to my specific needs, thanks to its mechanical hall-effect magnetic switches, customizable LED screen, and extensive software customization options.
