Title: UFC Champ Criticizes Struggling Veteran: "He's Just So Ordinary"
Kevin Holland's recent performances in the UFC have left many unimpressed, with his peers and former champions voicing their concerns. Following his disrespectful comments towards UFC legend Quinton "Rampage" Jackson during a podcast appearance and subsequent loss to Reinier de Ridder at UFC 311, Holland has been slammed for his limited skills and approach.
On his MMArcade podcast, former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker wasn't holding back. "He's so average," Whittaker said. "What do you want me to say, dude? Like he just, time and time again, the same thing keeps happening. The same thing; I don't know what else I can say."
Holland's struggle is evident in his recent record. He's lost his last two fights, four of his last five, and six of his last nine. The 32-year-old is in a rough patch, and it seems his best bet is to focus on wrestling to overcome his opponents.
This strategy was successfully employed by Reinier de Ridder, who took Holland down and dominated him in their UFC 311 clash. Similarly, Roman Dolidze capitalized on Holland's weaknesses, causing a rib injury that forced the latter to quit mid-fight.
Interestingly, while Holland appears to excel at welterweight, he's chosen to stick with the middleweight division. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to possess the strength or skills necessary to compete with the best in this division.

TJ Dillashaw, a former UFC champion, was particularly critical of Holland in the UFC 311 recap episode of the Jaxxon Podcast. Dillashaw argued that Holland's lackluster work ethic and commitment to training were major contributing factors to his losses.
"He’s entertaining and he’s fun," Dillashaw said. "I heard him in here talking when he was saying he doesn’t care about being champion. ‘There’s too much politics.’ I’m like, alright dude, that’s just an excuse because you’ll never be a champion. He’ll never be a champion, and I promise you that."
Analysts predict that Holland will face significant challenges in his upcoming fights, particularly against skilled grapplers like Reinier de Ridder. His chaotic style, while entertaining, may not be enough to secure victories against top-tier opponents. To maintain his relevance in the middleweight division, Holland needs to produce results quickly and avoid further losses.
