Today's 'Wordle' Solution Suggestions, Indications, and Response for December 28th, Saturday
As a kid, the days between Christmas and New Year's Eve were like a magical time off from school with snow and family gatherings. Now, I feel a winter blues during this period, a week of mild sadness. It's like a post-Christmas hangover.
These days, I've got a winter melancholy, dealing with it each year around this time. A week of mild gloom. It's like a spiritual Christmas hangover. All that anticipation and build-up leading to the Big Day and then it's over, leaving behind wrapping paper scattered all over the floor. Back to work. Back to life. Back to this in-between week between two of the year's biggest holidays.
And, naturally, there's a Wordle to solve. Let's give it a shot.

Wordle Bot helps me keep track of my progress and gives me an idea of what might be coming up. Today, GRADE did better than I anticipated, leaving me with 49 possibilities and three yellow squares. I tried combining that with CIDER, but they all turned yellow, with a new yellow 'C' appearing. Luckily, there was only one left and I was able to find it. DECRY came out on top!

Today's Wordle Etymology
The word "decry" comes from the Old French "descrier", meaning "to cry out, announce, or denounce." It derives from the prefix "des-" (meaning "down" or "away") and "crier" (meaning "to cry or proclaim"). By the late 16th century, the English language adapted the meaning of "decry" to mean publicly condemning or criticizing something.
