Unusual Weekend in Hagen: Drunk Driver, River Evader, Scam Victim, Bike Theft
A series of unusual incidents occurred in Hagen and surrounding areas over the weekend. A man was arrested for driving under the influence without a license, while another attempted to evade police by jumping into a river. Meanwhile, a senior citizen in Altena fell victim to a scammer, and a bike was stolen in Hagen.
On Sunday, police in Märkischer Kreis stopped a scrap collector on the Hagen road. The man, who has not been identified, was found to be under the influence of drugs and did not possess a driver's license. Officers issued several administrative offense reports, charging him with driving under the influence, driving without a license, violating the Narcotics Act, and the Weapons Act.
In a separate incident, a 37-year-old man from Herne attempted to evade a traffic control by jumping into the Lenne river. He was later arrested and charged with similar offenses.
In Altena, an elderly resident was targeted by a scammer. The scammer attempted to access the senior's computer and online banking, but further details of the incident are not yet known.
Meanwhile, a green, white, and black Scott bike was stolen from a hallway on Hegenscheider Weg in Hagen.
