Upcoming Changes in Battlefield 2042: Discover the latest additions, including new maps, firearms, and additional features, detailed here

Battlefield 2042, the popular first-person shooter game developed by DICE (also known as Battlefield Studios), has seen a significant resurgence in its player base following the release of Update 9.2.0.

The update, now live across all supported platforms, brings a host of new features, gameplay changes, and exclusive rewards linked to the upcoming release of Battlefield 6. Among the new additions are two new weapons, two new attack jets, fortified bunkers, trenches, and boat landings.

One of the most anticipated additions is the return of Iwo Jima, a classic map previously featured in Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 1943, and Battlefield V. The reimagined Iwo Jima in Battlefield 2042 features an active volcano at its core, providing a unique and challenging environment for players.

In addition to the new content, Update 9.2.0 also introduces the Battlepass. This feature, available until October 7, offers 60 tiers of exclusive rewards, including cosmetics inspired by earlier titles in the Battlefield franchise such as Battlefield 1, Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, Battlefield V, and Bad Company 2. However, it's important to note that the Battlepass does not include rewards specifically for Battlefield 2042.

Players who participated in the Battlefield 6 open beta are rewarded with the Lynx sniper rifle in Battlefield 2042. This powerful weapon will be available to other players at a later date.

All rewards from the Battlepass will become available at launch, ensuring that players can immediately enjoy their new cosmetics in Battlefield 6. It's worth mentioning that the Battlepass does not offer any exclusive rewards for Battlefield 2042.

Since the release of Update 9.2.0, the player count has climbed over 22,000 players, with the game peaking at more than 20,000 concurrent players on August 18. This resurgence in player base is a testament to the exciting new content and features that Update 9.2.0 brings to Battlefield 2042.

With the upcoming release of Battlefield 6 in October, players can look forward to unlocking exclusive bonuses that will carry over from Battlefield 2042, making their transition to the new game even more rewarding.
