In a significant move towards social transformation, ABeam Consulting Vietnam is proud to have contributed to the DOLAB-JICA project, a digital initiative aimed at improving the wellbeing of Vietnamese workers in Japan.

The DOLAB-JICA project, a collaboration between the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Department of Overseas Labour (DOLAB) under Vietnam's Ministry of Home Affairs, leverages technology to provide a direct and transparent job search platform for Vietnamese citizens seeking employment opportunities in Japan.

Overview of DOLAB-JICA Project

The DOLAB-JICA job search platform, which began in August 2023, offers a range of features designed to support job seekers. These include a mobile app and website, allowing workers to search for jobs, access detailed costs associated with working in Japan, and contact recruiting companies directly without intermediaries.

By April 2025, the platform had garnered 27,000 site visits, 956 job postings updated, 230 app downloads, 159 user accounts created, and training conducted for 263 service providers.

Potential for Expansion

While there are no specific expansion plans mentioned beyond Vietnam, the success of the DOLAB-JICA platform could serve as a model for similar initiatives in other countries. The project’s focus on transparency and worker protection aligns with broader international goals to ensure fair labor practices and reduce exploitation.

Future expansions or collaborations could involve regional and global partnerships with international organisations like the International Labour Organisation (ILO), technological advancements such as AI-based job matching or blockchain for secure documentation, and policy advocacy to protect migrant workers' rights and promote responsible labor practices.

ABeam's Role and Future Plans

ABeam Consulting Vietnam, which leads software development and coordination for the DOLAB-JICA application, believes in the power of technology to create social value, enhance transparency, and protect citizens' rights. The company is committed to continuing its efforts to enhance the impact and usability of the DOLAB-JICA project, with plans for expansion beyond Vietnam in partnership with the ILO and the Japan Platform for Migrant Workers Towards Responsible and Inclusive Society.

Yosuke Kobayashi, chief representative of JICA Vietnam, aims to change the paradigm of labor migration through digital transformation, and Ryohei Oda, managing director of ABeam Consulting Vietnam, stated the company's pride in contributing to a project reflecting their commitment to social transformation.

The DOLAB-JICA application is a digital tool for Vietnamese workers to access verified job postings from Japanese companies, view details such as company names, job categories, responsibilities, contract duration, salary, allowances, and all costs prior to departure. Users can contact recruiting companies directly without the need for intermediaries, a significant step towards eliminating illegal brokers and intermediaries.

For now, the DOLAB-JICA project remains focused on its objectives in Vietnam and Japan, with ongoing efforts to make a positive impact on the lives of Vietnamese workers seeking employment opportunities in Japan.

The DOLAB-JICA project, facilitated by ABeam Consulting Vietnam, is a digital initiative that leverages technology to revolutionize business by providing a transparent job search platform for Vietnamese workers in Japan, particularly in the finance sector. As the project shifts towards future collaborations, ABeam looks forward to expanding its role in partnership with international organizations such as the International Labour Organisation (ILO), incorporating advancements in technology like AI-based job matching, and advocating for policy changes to promote fair labor practices and protect migrant workers' rights.
