VinFast Opens First Showroom in India, Showcasing Electric SUVs
In a significant move, Vietnamese automaker VinFast has inaugurated its first showroom in India. Located in Surat, Gujarat, the showroom was launched ahead of the company's first electric vehicle (EV) plant in the country. The showroom, operated by Maansarovar Motors, is the first of 35 dealerships VinFast plans to set up across 27 cities in India by the end of 2025.
The Surat showroom, spanning 3,000 square feet, offers immersive product experiences, seamless vehicle purchase journeys, and after-sales support. It displays VinFast's upcoming electric SUVs, the VF 6 and VF 7, for which pre-bookings began on July 15. Customers can reserve vehicles either online or at the showroom for a refundable amount of ₹21,000.
VinFast has partnered with clean-tech firm BatX Energies to promote battery recycling and support the development of a circular battery value chain. This initiative is part of VinFast's sustainability strategy in India.
In addition to the battery recycling partnership, VinFast has signed agreements with RoadGrid, myTVS, and Global Assure to set up support infrastructure for charging and after-sales services.
The VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs are anticipated to be the first of many electric vehicles from VinFast, including the VF9, VF7, VF8, VF e34, VF3, and VF6.

Design and Dimensions
The VF9 measures 5119 mm in length, 2004 mm in width, and 1691 mm in height, providing ample space for passengers. The vehicle offers seating for up to seven passengers, making it suitable for family use.
Performance
The VF9 is equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering a combined output of 402 horsepower (300 kW). It can achieve a 0-100 km/h dash in 6.6 seconds. The vehicle weighs approximately 2900 kg.
Battery and Range
The VF9 is available with either a 97 kWh or 123 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The WLTP range for the 97 kWh battery is up to 437 km, while the 123 kWh battery offers a range of up to 594 km (or 330 miles EPA-rated). The batteries can charge at up to 160 kW using DC fast chargers or 11 kW on AC power.
Interior and Technology
The VF9 features a 15.6-inch (or 15.4-inch depending on the source) infotainment touchscreen display compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Advanced safety features include automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and a 360-degree camera system. The vehicle includes vegan leather upholstery and a panoramic sunroof.
Warranty
The VF9 comes with a comprehensive warranty coverage of ten years.
