Women Lead Digital Transformation at Weser-Ems-Süd Conference

The municipal equal opportunity officers of the Weser-Ems-Süd region gathered in Nordhorn for their annual conference. Mayor Thomas Berling kicked off the event, wishing all participants success. The conference, chaired by Anja Milewski and Linda Borchers, focused on the influence of women on digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

Prof. Dr. Vera Lenz-Kesekamp delivered a lecture titled 'Between Algorithms and Everyday Life - Women Shaping the Digital Transformation'. The speech explored the role of women in driving the development of AI and digital technologies.

Representatives from the districts of Emsland, Osnabrück, and Grafschaft Bentheim attended the conference. Susanne Häring was recognised for her service on the state board for five years. Franziska Grüter-Matt and Kathrin Warstatt were elected to represent the region on the state board of the municipal equal opportunity officers of Lower Saxony.

The conference highlighted the importance of women's contributions to digital transformation. With Grüter-Matt and Warstatt joining the state board, the region looks forward to continued progress in equal opportunity initiatives.
