"World of Tanks" set to remain playable for players until minimum June. Post-June plans unspecified.
The Tagansky Court in Moscow has shifted the hearing regarding the potential ban on the operations of "Lesta Games," a Russian video development company known for its titles like "World of Tanks" and "World of Warships," to June 3. TASS reported the change in schedule from an initial May 27 hearing date.
The legal dispute against the company centers around accusations of extremist activities, with claims that "Lesta Games" has been supporting Ukraine. Lawyer Roman Makarov voiced these assertions, while the company has publicly denied such allegations.
In 2022, "Lesta Games" and Wargaming, the original developer of these popular game titles, decided to separate. Wargaming subsequently withdrew from the Russian and Belarusian markets in support of Ukraine, while "Lesta Games" continued operations in Russia.

The Prosecutor General's Office filed a lawsuit against "Lesta Games" in April 2025, seeking to seize 100% of the company's shares and transfer them to the state treasury under Russian Federal Law No 114-FZ "On Combatting Extremist Activity." A closed-door hearing took place on May 27, 2025, regarding this case.
Furthermore, "Lesta Games" has experienced asset seizures affecting its operations. The company has appealed these interim measures, with the case currently under review. If the legal proceedings do not favor "Lesta Games," former general producer Sergei Burkatovsky suggested that the company might cease developing all its games.
